Text message terms

Draft of October 25, 2026

Draft. These terms are being finalized and aren't in effect yet. Highlighted items are still to be filled in.

The program

Consent to receive text messages isn't a condition of any purchase. Carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How owners opt in

Texting is never turned on automatically and isn't part of creating an account. No messages are sent until all of these steps are complete:

  1. A signed-in owner on the Operator plan opens the Decision Center, then Settings, then Messaging, and chooses to turn on texting.
  2. They enter their US mobile number and see the consent statement below, with an unchecked box. The button to continue stays disabled until they check the box themselves. A "No thanks" button lets them decline with no effect on their account.
  3. After they check the box and continue, we text a 6-digit code to that number. No other message is sent at this stage.
  4. They enter the code in the Decision Center to confirm they own the number. Texting turns on only after the code is confirmed.

What the owner sees:

Privacy

We use your mobile number only to run the texting you've turned on. Mobile numbers and text message consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. Messages are sent and received through Twilio. The full details are in our privacy policy.
